UMC has also made arrangements with major library vendors to provide our customers with an extensive array of standard cell and I/O libraries for their designs. Since most front-end design kits are distributed at little or no cost, our customers can conveniently choose the most suitable library according to their requirements without cost constraints.
As IP has become a critical resource for today's SoCs, UMC is helping designers and system developers overcome design hurdles by providing easy access to IP blocks developed internally and by third party partners which are ready for integration into customer designs. We have worked to provide both and complex basic SoC design building blocks that are optimized for portability and cost.
