UMC Selects  BroadVision's One-To-One™  Enterprise And ERM (Enterprise Relationship Management) Applications

BroadVision Delivers Personal Gateway for Customers, Partners, Employees

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Sep. 6, 2000 – BroadVision, a leader in personalized e-business applications, announced that UMC, a world-leading semiconductor foundry, selected the BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise and BroadVision Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM) applications to provide a B2E (business-to-employee) solution for integration into its corporate intranet.  UMC is the one of the earliest adopters of BroadVision's ERM application.

UMC's initial implementation of BroadVision's industry-leading, e-commerce application suite will be focused on providing robust B2E (business-to-employee) capabilities, including mainstream publishing, personalized display of all sources of content, and collaboration.  BroadVision creates "anchor sites" for employees that need to incorporate the World Wide Web with a company intranet via configurable home pages, project collaboration and Web-based lead management.

"As a leading semiconductor foundry with customers worldwide, it is critical that we maintain world-class knowledge management and collaborative communication throughout our organization," said Robert Chin, UMC's director of IT.  "BroadVision's flexible foundation allows us to offer personalized services to our employees while streamlining our internal knowledge management process."

"UMC and BroadVision share a commitment to developing the most advanced process technology while providing unmatched service," said Brett Ho, vice president and general manager of BroadVision's Asia-Pacific region.  "We're delighted that UMC has taken the lead as an early adopter of our ERM applications."
