UMC Shareholders Approve NT$0.50 Cash Dividend at Annual Shareholders' Meeting


Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. – June 8, 2017 – United Microelectronics Corporation (NYSE: UMC; TWSE: 2303) (“UMC”), a leading global semiconductor foundry, today held its 2017 annual shareholders’ meeting.
At the meeting, shareholders approved:


The 2016 Business Report and Financial Statements. The company's consolidated revenue for 2016 was NT$147,870 million and net income attributable to stockholders of the parent was NT$8,316 million, with earnings per share of NT$0.68.


The 2016 cash distribution to stockholders totaled NT$6,112 million, at approximately NT$0.50 per share.


The option to issue a private placement plan for common shares, ADR/GDR or CB/ECB, including secured or unsecured corporate bonds. The amount of shares issued or convertible is proposed to be no more than 10% of registered capital. The private placement plan will expire after a one-year period.
