聯華電子與CEVA公司合作數位訊號處理器核心授權計劃
提供受廣泛使用之手機數位訊號處理器(DSP)更經濟的授權選擇
加速IC設計公司產品上市時程

執業界牛耳之數位訊號處理器核心及解決方案的半導體授權廠商--CEVA公司，今日(5日)與聯華電子共同宣佈：雙方自即日起進行授權合作計畫。此計畫將授權IC設計公司採用CEVA公司的"Teak"及"TeakLite" DSP核心，設計多種手機及數位多媒體產品，此舉將幫助IC設計公司有效縮短其產品上市時程並降低成本。

此項協議將授權IC設計公司使用聯華電子的製程，採具成本效益的依使用次數計價方式，將CEVA受廣泛運用之數位訊號處理核心"Teak"或"TeakLite"技術，應用於其系統單晶片的設計中。聯華電子將把CEVA公司之DSP導入製程中，藉以降低IC設計客戶的研發成本，並且縮短其產品的上市時程。

聯華電子參與此計劃之舉，反映DSP市場的迅速成長。根據全球半導體貿易統計組織 (WSTS) 公佈的資料顯示，在全球IC市場僅僅成長2%的情況下，2003年前三季DSP出貨量較2002年同期成長將近14%。而電子市場研究公司Forward Concepts則預測，截至2003年底，DSP市場年成長率將達20%，在2004年將可達25%。大部分成長來自於遠東地區，透過與CEVA公司的結盟，聯華電子可在其現有的廣大亞洲客戶群中開發顯著的新商業契機。
