Dr. Fu Tai Liou is currently President of UMC in charge of Q&RA. He also serves on the company's Board of Directors. Dr. Liou joined UMC in 1997 as Senior Vice President & CTO and was in charge of R&D and Design Support. He was then assigned as Chief Officer of Worldwide Marketing and Sales (2001~2002) and President of AmBG (2003~2007). Prior to UMC, Dr. Liou was Vice President of Manufacturing and Site Manager at ST Microelectronics. He also served as Manager of Fast SRAM Design and Technology Development at Motorola and Senior Engineer and Project Leader at Intel. Dr. Liou graduated from National Central University, Taiwan. He received his M.S. degree in Physics from Auburn University and Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from State University of New York at Stony Brook.
