UMC improved over last year's top-10 rank by placing 6th among large-scale enterprises. The Corporate Citizenship Award, which evaluates over 2,000 companies from various categories, is one of the most renowned recognitions for companies in Taiwan. Po Wen Yen, CEO at UMC, received the award on behalf of the company at the Far Eastern Hotel in Taipei today. The judges recognized UMC for its solid, outstanding performance in 4 aspects: Corporate Governance, Corporate Commitment, Social Participation and Environmental Protection.
