UMC continues to invest in its people, equipping employees with diverse opportunities for learning, career growth, and skills development through its talent development framework, digital transformation initiatives, and leadership development program. To help new employees build job-ready skills, the company established the UMC Equipment Academy in 2022, offering structured courses and hands-on training. In response to the accelerating pace of digital transformation, UMC has also launched a seed program in which designated employees serve as trainers to support other team members in building practical digital skills and confidence in applying AI tools in their everyday work.

Community engagement is a key pillar of UMC’s sustainability strategy. UMC supports structured employee volunteering through employee clubs and community initiatives led by individual fabs and departments. By providing 16 hours of paid volunteer leave each year, employees are empowered to contribute their time and skills to create meaningful, lasting social impact. In 2025, UMC employees contributed a total of 9,689 volunteer hours, benefiting over 66,000 people in our communities.
