Safety Performance Indicators
|
UMC continues to promote various safety and hygiene management programs to prevent injuries and accidents during manufacturing processes and daily activities. Through periodical update, safety performance indicators can be used as the basis for continually achieving excellent safety performance.
UMC cares about labor safety and hygiene, and uses computerized system for reporting and investigation of accidents/incidents. Accidents/incidents are reviewed monthly for root causes and preventive actions. There was no major accidents in 2024. The disabling frequency rate (FR) and the disabling severity rate (SR) were 0.18 and 2 respectively in 2024, and both were far below the average rate in Taiwan semiconductor industries.
FR = (Number of Lost time cases ÷ Number of hours worked by all employees) × 1,000,000
SR = (Number of lost workdays ÷ Number of hours worked by all employees) × 1,000,000
