United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) is committed to establishing a culture of integrity and honesty in its business operations. UMC adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. If you discover any act or behavior by UMC personnel that violates, appears to violate, or may violate UMC's ethical standards, please report it to us. We will immediately refer it to the related management for appropriate action.

  1. UMC may use your personal data, including name, company name, telephone number and email address, to facilitate investigation or to contact you. If necessary, UMC may transfer your personal data to UMC Group companies and third parties that are commissioned by UMC to assist in the investigation.   2. Unless otherwise provided by laws, UMC, including UMC Group companies and the third parties appointed by UMC to assist in related investigation, will maintain the confidentiality of your personal data and protect your identity and privacy to the fullest extent permitted by law.

  3. You must not knowingly make false statements or intentionally fabricate facts. If the reported matter is found to be malicious or intentionally fabricated, you will be held responsible for any relevant legal consequences.

  4. UMC accepts anonymous reports, but if there is no specific evidence provided for UMC to investigate, there may be concerns about the inability to investigate or insufficient evidence. If the evidence of the case is insufficient and the whistleblower cannot be contacted, UMC can only keep the case on record and close it.

  5. In order to investigate and/or resolve the issue as soon as possible, please provide as much detailed information and documents as possible. Please note that If there is insufficient information and documents, it will be difficult for UMC to conduct an investigation.

  6. You shall maintain the confidentiality of any of information of any communications between you and UMC. Unless otherwise required by law, you can neither bring a lawsuit for the information of any communication between you and UMC, nor file a lawsuit by using information of any communication between you and UMC.
