Taipei, Taiwan, November 16, 2011 - UMC, a leading global semiconductor foundry, today announced that it has received the Excellence in CSR Report Award from TWSE. In order to address the CSR trend, and to encourage listed companies to value CSR reports' preparation, TWSE has formed an external judge panel to evaluate and honor the companies with excellence performance in CSR report. Ten elected companies will be awarded on November 26, during the TWSE's 50th anniversary celebration event. Ten companies includes UMC and the rest. The current GRI G3 Guidelines published by GRI is the most important guideline and structure for businesses all over the world while preparing their CSR report. In recent 3 years, there're total 55 Taiwan listed companies which have prepared their CSR reports. The evaluation this time is focus on those 35 listed companies which publish its CSR report based on GRI G3 Guidelines. The external judges panels consists of academic and experts, and the award criteria evaluate three major parts which are the quality, content disclosure, performance indicator of its CSR report, and many indicators from GRI G3 Guidelines. |
