Taipei, Taiwan, February 22, 2023 – United Microelectronics Corporation (NYSE: UMC; TWSE: 2303) (“UMC”), at a meeting of the Board of Directors held today, approved the 2022 Business Report and Financial Statements, and set the agenda for the Annual General Meeting. A brief summary of major recognition and discussion items is as follows:

• Approved the 2022 Business Report and Financial Statements. The consolidated revenue for 2022 was NT$278,705 million and net income attributable to the shareholders of the parent was NT$87,198 million, with earnings per share of NT$7.09.

• Shareholder cash distribution of approximately NT$3.60 per share. Looking into next year, we will strive to distribute a consistent cash dividend in spite of the cyclical nature of semiconductor industry.

• Employee cash compensation of NT$9,160.5 million.

Other major resolutions of today’s Board Meeting:

• Approved the capital budget execution of NT$2,413 million towards capacity deployment.

• Approved the change in Chartered Public Accountant due to the reorganization of the CPA firm.

• Approved a donation of NT$15 million to UMC Science and Culture Foundation.

• Announced that the Annual General Meeting will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at No. 16, Creation Rd. 1, Hsinchu Science Park.

• Approved the change of Chief Internal Auditor.
